Breaking: Flutter Team Announces Global Tour to Engage Developer Community

The Flutter core team will hit the road in 2026, visiting major tech conferences worldwide to connect directly with developers and gather feedback ahead of the launch of Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44. The initiative, revealed today, underscores Google's commitment to community-driven development for its cross-platform framework.

Flutter Embarks on Global Developer Tour Ahead of Major Framework Releases in 2026

“We believe the best products are built with direct input from the people who use them,” said Tim Sneath, Product Manager for Flutter. “This tour is our chance to listen, learn, and co-create with the global Flutter community.”

Key Conference Stops Include Google Cloud Next, I/O, and Regional Summits

The tour kicks off in April at Google Cloud Next in Las Vegas and continues through major events like Google I/O in May, Flutterconf Spain, and regional I/O Connect events in Berlin, Bengaluru, and China. The complete lineup covers more than 20 conferences across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

“We’re not just showing up — we’re bringing live demos, feedback sessions, and direct access to the engineers building Flutter,” added Sneath. “This is a unique opportunity for developers to shape the framework’s future.”

Background: Community-Driven Development at Scale

Flutter has grown into one of the world’s most popular open-source frameworks, powering apps on mobile, web, desktop, and embedded devices. With over 700,000 developers globally, the project relies heavily on real-world feedback to prioritize features and improve performance.

The upcoming Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44 releases promise significant enhancements to the framework’s productivity and multi-platform capabilities. The tour aims to gather early input on these releases, as well as longer-term roadmap items like improved desktop support and ephemeral experience tooling.

“Developer feedback has directly shaped major features like impeller rendering and Dart macros,” noted Jane Doe, a Lead Developer Advocate at Google. “This tour extends that dialogue beyond online forums to face-to-face interactions.”

What This Means: Direct Line to the Core Team

For Flutter developers, the tour represents an unprecedented chance to influence the framework’s direction in person. Sessions will include live Q&As, prototype demos, and one-on-one conversations with team members.

“We want to hear what’s working, what’s broken, and what’s missing,” Sneath emphasized. “Every conversation will be treated as input to our product backlog.”

Organizations hosting local Flutter meetups are encouraged to contact the team — if the tour is already in your region, engineers may be able to make an additional stop. The team will also sponsor attendance by Google Developer Experts and community leaders at many events.

How to Get Involved

  1. Check the official events calendar for updates.
  2. Register early — many sessions have limited capacity.
  3. Submit feedback via the Flutter GitHub repository or in person at any tour stop.

“This is more than a tour — it’s a conversation,” concluded Doe. “We’re building Flutter together, and we want every developer to have a seat at the table.”
